On the heels of the critically-acclaimed 2016 Festival, excitement is building for OperaDelaware's 2017 performances celebrating the 225th anniversary of Rossini's birth and featuring La Cenerentola (Cinderella) and his rarely-performed tragedy, Semiramide. The festival will run over two weekends, April 28-30 and May 5-7. This 225th birthday celebration Festival will be as full of unforgettable music - and incredible surprises - as the inimitable Rossini would have lived it - a must see for both seasoned and new opera fans, alike!

This annual event is a culinary and wine extravaganza featuring an array of Masterpieces prepared by local Celebrity Chefs complimented with over 20 fine wines. (Must be 21 years of age to attend.) The evening includes a discounted wine store, live entertainment, a silent auction and more.  Wine will be served at each station. Special hotel package available! 


Greenbank MillsAnnual Herb Sale & Sheep Shearing
April 29

Join Greenbank Mills & Philips Farm from 10am-4pm on Saturday to witness the shearing process for their heritage breed sheep with hands-on demonstrations of the fleece processing and what it takes to turn it into fabric. A beautiful selection of wonderful Amish-grown herbs will be available for purchase to get your herb garden started right this spring!  They will have delicious foods available for purchase from The Flying Deutschman so your family can fill up on the authentic German delights.  This is a FREE event!


Hagley Maker FestHagley Maker Fest
April 29

Create and innovate at Hagley. Enjoy a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. This event features demonstrations from area makers showcasing craftsmanship and technology including wood-lathing and 3-D printing, and a pop-up makerspace for visitors to tinker with recycled items. Activities are included in regular admission and free for members.
