A train ride…sounds so simple doesn’t it?

Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley’s Wilmington and Western Railroad was originally chartered in 1867, to move goods from the mills along the Red Clay Creek to the Port of Wilmington. Throughout the years, the line was purchased, sold, shut down and restored to become a functioning steam-diesel-powered train for tours throughout Wilmington’s scenic Red Clay Valley.

The railroad has since created a name for itself with its many seasonal events. With a visit through scenic areas available only by rail, that simple thought of a train ride becomes an incredible experience and a brand-new adventure. Hop on board one of Wilmington’s hidden gems during your next visit with these incredible Wilmington &Western Railroad events!
