New Year’s Eve at Hamilton’s on Main

The three-course dinner features Butter-Poached Lobster Tail Tartine; Steak Tartare with endive and chips; Pan-Roasted Chicken Breast with stewed white beans and escarole; and a spectacular Dame Blanche Sundae of vanilla ice cream with decadent, warm Eclat chocolate ganache, luxardo cherry on top and whipped cream. With their annual New Year's Room and Dinner Package it'll be a night to remember. Noon Year’s Eve at the Brandywine Zoo  

Celebrate the New Year “Zoo-style” with the kids, by ringing in the New Year at NOON!  The Brandywine Zoo will be providing a unique experience with games, crafts, and a celebratory atmosphere with a group countdown to the New Year (and in perfect timing for that afternoon nap).  This event will take place outside, so be sure to dress for the weather! Hot chocolate will be available for purchase. 

Please note that some animals may not be in a party mood because of the cold weather!  

Confetti Countdowns at the Delaware Children’s Museum 

The Delaware Children’s Museum, a well-known and eye-catching museum along the Wilmington Riverfront will be hosting FOUR Confetti Countdowns on New Year’s Eve. Four identical events will be held in just one day! The countdown to the New Year will be held at 11:00 am, 12:00 noon, 1:00 & 2:00 pm. Each celebration will countdown to 2023 with confetti cannons and a confetti storm followed by music from We Kidz Rock. Be sure to stay and play, we hear there will also be roaming puppets and a few photo opportunities to share with the grandparents.  

Suffering from a New Year’s Eve overindulgence? Start 2023 with some exercise...  

Voted Best Walking Trails in Delaware, join the New Castle County Parks and Recreation team for a New Year’s Day Hike at Rockwood Park! This two-mile easy-to-moderate hike along the paved paths ringing Rockwood's historic estate is the perfect event to work off those holiday cookies! Guides will lead visitors through mobile stories of Rockwood's architecture, gardens, and the unique landscape of northern Delaware. Be sure to get there early for a warm beverage and family activities before the walk.

Dress in layers and wear appropriate footwear (two pairs of socks!). The group will meet at the Courtyard to the Rockwood Museum entrance. Feel free to park in any of the Park's three lots. Afterward, warm up inside the museum with a self-guided tour of the season’s feature exhibition, Lighting the Trees: Rockwood’s Arboretum.
