It’s summertime and what rhymes with summer? Golf of course!
With the BMW Championship around the corner, the Wilmington Country Club will provide an amazing opportunity to see the game’s best, but why watch when you can play yourself? There are plenty of public courses throughout Greater Wilmington that will provide a great golf experience.

The Ed Oliver Golf Course is located in Wilmington, Delaware just minutes from downtown, and was built where the first Wilmington Country Club was originally located. The historic course is a sight to see, especially when approaching the 18th hole where a 100-year-old chimney still stands from the original conception. The course comes equipped with a clubhouse and golf shop where you can buy apparel or get your clubs repaired. As an added bonus, if you get hungry after your round you can stop into Greenhill Pub for some food and drink.
Rock Manor Golf Course is another beautiful course to fit every golfer’s needs in Wilmington, Delaware. This course was recently upgraded and renovated into a 6,405-yard facility. With new bunkers, tee boxes, and greens you will surely enjoy playing a round of golf here. In addition to their new facility, Rock Manor also plays host to an indoor golf simulator. In the simulator, you can play prestigious courses like Pebble Beach or just focus on perfecting aspects of your game. Whether playing on the course or in the simulator, make sure to grab a bite to eat at the On the Rocks Pub located in the clubhouse.
Whether you’re here for the BMW Championship or visiting for a quick golf getaway, you can’t go wrong with playing at one (or more!) of the courses mentioned above. And hey, if you had a rough day because you missed that birdie putt, or if the idea of a “real round” scares ya… there's always mini golf at the Riverfront to fix your putting woes! All levels of experience are welcome when you golf throughout Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley.
