Gardens
Greater Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley boast more than 3,500 acres of incredible gardens along with a small collection of historic and storied mansions. Much of this lavishness is a legacy left behind by the du Pont family, who fled France at the beginning of the 19th century, barely escaping the guillotine and establishing a new life for themselves in Wilmington, Delaware and the surrounding Brandywine Valley.
