‘Tis the season, and all the trees are trimmed at the Hagley Museum, the first stop on your seasonal tour through Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley. Traditions old and new fill the air, from the holiday traditions of the past at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library to the newest light displays at Longwood Gardens. (Save that trip for last, but reserve your space in those twilight hours weeks in advance by buying your timed tickets online.) On your way, stop for something warm at Buckley's Tavern, always a welcoming stop for travelers along Route 52. Plan to stay the night as no holiday visit is complete without some tax-free shopping. Head back down Route 52 and you'll find over 40 boutiques with high-fashion to fine stationary. From there hop on I-95 and head to Christiana Mall, where over 20 million people shop each year at its 130 plus shops and restaurants. And, if I-95 north is your route home, consider a stop at the Concord Mall in North Wilmington, home to 90 plus tax-free shops.
